Geoff Norcott

Geoff Norcott is a living contradiction.

A one-time presenter on lads TV channel Nuts TV who was forced to apologise for a joke that was too misogynistic even for Nuts - crikey -  Geoff Norcott was happy to redress the balance in his recent Edinburgh show The Shocking Truth About Men And Women.

Everything Comedian Geoff Norcott does is under-pinned by wide-smiled charm, enthusiasm, optimism and a sharp comic mind. Not so much as a case of the glass is half full with Geoff it is overflowing. He could find the upside in a capsized submarine.

Whether it be on the comedy circuit, where an abundance of Geoff Norcott energy added to his thrilling mix of observations, satire and the occasional impression almost wills the audience to laughter, or on television as the host with more than the most, Geoff is a must-watch comedian.

A multi-talented comic, Geoff Norcott is also a dab hand at funny voices, be they real people or characters he's just made up. His impressions, which he has been known to throw in during his act, depending on the audience, include such luminaries, some loved/some hated, as David Cameron, Simon Cowell, Eddie Murphy, Tim Westwood, Danny Dyer, Gollum, Ewan McGregor and
Barry Davies. Other voice work has seen him voice children's stories for BBC radio and more adult material for Nuts TV.

A big friend and fan of The Comedy Clubs, Geoff Norcott is also known to turn a trick at such other laughter circuit faves as Glee, Comedy Store Rawhide, The Hyena, The Comedy Café, Banana Cabaret and the Bearcat.

Stand-up Geoff Norcott has recently returned from a second solo show at the Edinburgh Festival where he gained several four star reviews for his show The Difference Between Men and Women.

International Live work includes such diverse ports of call as Crete, Paris, Singapore, Bahrain, Galway and Jersey as well as the blue bits in between in the shape of the cruise ship circuit.
A big fan of festivals however large or small, Geoff Norcott has appeared at Reading, Guilfest, Bug Jam, Cambridge Folk, Big Bang and Cannizaro Park Festival (no me neither).

On the other side of the comedy coin, Geoff, like many a modern comic, is not averse to turning the corpoorate shilling and among his blue chip comedy clients are a Duke of Edinburgh Award Ceremony at St James Palace, Talksport, the Rank Group, Yell.com and Holiday Inn.

On television he flits almost seamlessly between presenting roles on the likes of the The Five O'Clock Show with Richard Hammond and the WKD Shed Sports Show, where as main anchor his sharp one-liners sparked many a nightly debate to guest outings on ITV's Weapons of Mass Distractions, The Most Annoying TV We Love To Hate for BBC 3, two series of Dan and Dusty on IUTV and the quality Before and After They Were Mingers for Sky.

Geoff Norcott also appeared in cult comedy drama Teachers on Channel 4 and My Celebrity Divorce for the BBC and was a key part of the Spoofs impressions show line-up on BBC1 last year. He also took the lead role in the film Shop Idol.

Geoff is also making inroads onto our airwaves, including frequent guest spots on Yes It's The Ashes for BBC1, the Jon Richardson show on BBc6 Music and Talksport’s Hawksby & Jacobs Show, where he shares his unique take on the comic side of cricket. You only have to watch an England batting collapse or listen to Geoffrey Boycott to know there is plenty of scope for laughs. As a former teacher, Geoff is an often refreshing and humorous commentator on any issues related to education.

An emerging and talented writer, Geoff Norcott has penned material for the legendary and long-running Parsons & Naylor series on the BBC  as well as working for yoof music channel MTV.. Well someone's got to do it.

Geoff Norcott - he will MAKE you smile.
