A former winner of Time Out Comedian of the Year, Richard Morton’s amiable manner belies a razor sharp talent and with some acutely witty and well-defined and varied observations, he tackles a plethora of life's situations in gags, tales, and some of his hilarious and occasional risque songs. (Channel 5), as well as appearing on many of its regular staples like The Jack Docherty Chat Show, Wow, Fab, Groovy, Tibs & Fibs, Live & Dangerous, and Bring Me The Head Of Light Entertainment and the monster that is Night Fever, alongside living legend Suggs. Richard Morton also hosted two quiz series Move On Up, and Win Beadle’s Money.
In the hunt for larger audiences he has also appeared on the likes of Jack Dee's Saturday Night, Funny Business and Good Stuff as well as his own Richard Morton Christmas Special, all for ITV, and the brilliant Gag Tag (remember that?), Edinburgh Nights, I Love The 90’s and Never Mind The Buzzcocks for the BBC. He also landed a straight acting role, alongside every other Geordie who can stand up and talk at the same time, in BBC's seminal rites of passage drama Our Friends In The North. He also enjoyed several different acting roles in C4’s Jack and Jeremy’s Real Lives comedy series.
On radio Richard Morton is a regular favorite on those hotbeds of rapier wit and clever comedy, Loose Ends, Front Row, The Locker Room and Pick Of The Week for BBC Radio 4 as well as being a guest on the legendary Just A Minute. He was a team captain with Caroline Quentin for comedy quiz show CrossQuestioned and was proud recently to present a critically acclaimed series on the history of Geordie comedy called Ho’way The Laughs.
On the new cool Radio 2, he hosted a series of Stand Up 2, and appeared in a special gala performance of Full Steam A-Hudd, as well as performing music and comedy in three series of the highly-rated show, ‘Jammin’.
