Scott Calonico is a comedian and filmmaker originally from California, USA. He was raised in Houston, Texas and at the first possible opportunity moved to the liberal oasis of Austin, Texas. Along with standup comedy, Scott is an award winning filmmaker whose films (documentaries and comedies) have been shown all over the world. In 2007, Scott came to the UK to purse a graduate degree in International Journalism at City University. And also to do standup.
While in Austin, Scott was also part of the comedy duo, ''Scott and Stacey''. They made frequent finalist appearances in the Funniest Person in Austin Contest and were invited to perform at The Austin Out of Bounds Improv Festival in 2006 and the San Francisco Sketch Festival in 2006. Their short film, ''Safety First'' showed at the 2006 Montreal Just for Laughs Festival and was purchased by Comedy Central.
Currently Scott is gigging in London. Just in 2008, he has been a semi-finalist in the 2008 Laughing Horse Comedy Competition and performed at the Galway Comedy Festival. Oh yes, and he's about to finish his MA.
