The festive season is here, it’s Tuesday 1st December 2009 and there are just 24 days until Christmas, and 30 until the new year is upon us. Looking back, the year until now has been filled with more doom and gloom than seems possible to beat off, however every cloud has a silver lining.
Live stand-up comedy has come on strength to strength. Devonshire Health & Racquets Club - Comedy night went well on Saturday. All the Comedy Club events at the Devonshire have been well received.

Holding just its second show, The Comedy Club at The Jazz Cafe in Reading’s Madejski Stadium has already built an enviable reputation for holding one of the funniest nights in Reading. Chris Gillet, events manager at the club announced “people are already showing interest in the events up to march!”. With a packed out audience and comedy from 3 top comedians each show, Chris continued “the atmosphere’s been electric”.
